Help Having issues w/call quality.

Does it effect call quality? If i hard reset my phone, will that have any effect on the poor call quality I get? improve it?

It is the rough equivalent of reformatting your PC.
It will likely not change your call quality (But can sometimes - Thanks EarlyMon). All your applications and user input data that is not on the SD card gets erased, and the phone will be just like the day you got it. It is more technical than that but hopefully that simple analogy will help give you some frame of reference.

If you are having call quality issues then you should check out this thread:
http://androidforums.com/htc-evo-3d...r-vocoder-settings-improve-voice-quality.html
If you follow these instructions you should hear a marked difference through the phone's earpiece and how people hear you. This process basically lets you go into the sub-system and manually change the digital codec that is encoding/decoding the voice audio during phone calls.
Search around the forums here for more info on how and where to get your MSL # if you decide you are going to attempt to change your vocoder settings.

Also, check the 3G solution thread listed in forum guide to find tool and procedures to check that you're not tower hopping or suffering a bad headset. And to ensure your PRL and Profile updates are in order.

Some phones do respond to a factory reset for call improvement.

Some very great suggestions to check. I was guessing about what he meant in the first post and I didn't really want to address signal issues so I chose to only address specific call audio aspects. But the call audio aspects are sometimes largely dependent on signal issues.
