Root having problems making a backup

Yesterday I couldn't do a backup because my SD card was 100% full due to some problems so I did a restore and I repartitioned. My SD card and now all is well the phone is doing great. So today I want a backup before i install Darktremors app2sd and it still wont let me I'm only using up about 78mb on the SD right now and everything is working great. But I'm getting.

I'm on hroark13 Root. And updated CWM To 5.0 (blue font) with shabby. 9 and simple blue 4.2

What could be causing that? Everything is working great I want a backup if how it is setup right now
 
I'm no expert but im willing to try to run ideas that are simple and wont harm your phone in anyway.

When you partitioned via cwm you select your size and select 0 swap size?
We select 0 swap for performance issues.

Have you also tried selecting “Mounts and Storage” then mount /sd-ext and then select format sd-ext.
 
When I repartitioned. It I did 128 for the min (smaller) side and I did select 0 for the second selection I did do mount for the SD and the SD ext. I also selected format SD card but honestly I can't remember if I selected format for the ext. Also when I tried to do the backup the SD was empty with nothing on it as I had to erase everything because it was full. So will it says "image" I'm not sure if it means a image as in a actual picture or some sort of other image. I have a pretty good clean backup that I used but its pretty basic and takes. Me awhile to add what I want to it to get it to my flavor. I just love the add ons. And the Apps I'm currently. Running and I want a backup of the way it is now.

Besides I've had a blast in the last few days and . Changed a lot of stuff. I really got the hang of this stuff recently and I have done the new CWM update and the simple blue theme and some other stuff and for once I was not nervous inside CWM previously when I went there I felt like I was gonna mess up a ton of stuff. LOL. I've learned a few things all on my own just to come back here and read what I figured out and actually was able to understand what everyone here is talking about. I still don't k ow much at all but for once I would do root. Shabby. And a theme. On another persons phone and have confidence it would work OK.

Sorry I kinda went off to the left there. But all you guys here are doing a great service for us. The day I bought my prevail I thought root was the bottom of a tree.

Well that's where my problem started I have my SD partitioned in half and didn't realize I didn't have enough space on my SD so during the download it stopped about 80% of being complete and stopped. So I had to delete each folder that did download and delete some apps but it wasn't enough so I wiped out everything on the SD and did the 128 small then redid all my apps and got back simple blue and set up every thing I want. Now I want a backup of how it is now and also because i should do one before loading up the a2sd but it wont let me. I guess I will just do it anyway and get the a2sd without backing up. Worse come to worse I can hail Odin. I am really thinking its the SD card that has an Issue somewhere. Oh well worse come to worse I just get a bigger :) SD card and start over.

I'm curious, when partitioning your card are you selecting half the size of the card you have? Also do you have another card to try this on?

the first time i did the partition i did select half the size of the card. it was just a guess as i had no idea how big to make it. after i had problems because i couldnt get the darktremor a2sd and simple blue to all fit with the rest of what i had, i then did a re-partition and selected the 128min.

I know have a2sd and simple blue with hroark13 root, his kernal and shabby .9 loaded plus all my apps with lots of space to go back and get many other apps that i deleted.

But... I did try again and i still cannot complete a backup without the error message.
