Root Having Second Thoughts - Unrooting?

Hi. :)

So, I've had my Ascend (Cricket) since December (after returning the crash-prone Zio less than a day after I got it, of course), and finally decided to try rooting it tonight, which I did successfully.

However, now that I've done it, I'm finding myself wondering if I did the right thing. Yeah, I know - people who post here are likely going to tell me I'm fine, and I probably am at this point. However, I just worry that I'm gonna mess something up down the line, and maybe this wasn't for the best since I'm still an Android neophyte.

Right now, all I've done since root is run a backup with the free version of Ti-Bu. I haven't uninstalled apps, played with settings, or anything. At this point, would it be safe to simply unroot via z4root, or do I need to do something else? Is there anything else I would need to know or do before I unroot?

Thanks!

its plenty of good things that your phone can do...i personally would recommend installing icarus, all bloatware gone plus extra to make your phone run like a $500 and also unlock all the possibilities. LOOK HERE: http://androidforums.com/ascend-all-things-root/267406-how-install-icarus-mod.html

I don't think I'm quite ready to flash roms yet! I still think I'm crazy for rooting in the first place... though, I admit, I'm warming up to the idea, now that a couple hours have gone by and nothing disastrous has happened yet.

I do have a question, however, should I decide to stay rooted. I'm hoping to get a bigger SD card next month (currently using 4GB - not quite big enough for all my music ;)). Would it be safe to transfer the Ti-Bu backup folder from the old card to the new card when that happens?

yes its safe...but if you run into any problems and think you have mess anything up you can always flash back to metro stock rom just as if you took it out of the box...
