Help Having trouble setting up group's under contacts

Hello All,

I upgraded from the Sprint Moment to the Samsung Epic 4G the other day, and must say its night and day diffrence between the two. So far i haven't had much trouble getting everything setup on my new Epic, BUT can not for the life of me figure out how to setup a group under contacts. I even received a email from sprint shortly after getting my epic which has a walk-through on how to do lots of things with this phone, but after following that walk-through i still can't get a group setup.

According to Sprints walk-through:

Step 1. Tap contacts (which i do)

Step 2. Tap groups, then tap phone (I tap groups, but there is no option for phone which according to their on line walk-through there should be)

Step 3. Tap add memeber (there is no on screen option that says add memeber, however if i hit meue there is a option, so i do this)

Step 4. select the contacts to add to the group (well when i get to this screen it only shows me 4 or 5 contacts that i can pick from (compared to the 72 i actually have on the phone), and they seem to be the only ones not already assigned to a group of some sort which the phone did on its own i am guessing, because i have not actually assigned anyone other than the favioret setting i had from my old contact list)

So i get to step 4, and can't go any further, because i am not getting a full list of everyone in my contacts so i can start to assigne them.

any idea what i am doing wrong????

No matter what group i pick to start adding contacts to, i get the same 5 choices to pick from.

Thanks for any help on this matter.

this is how it works for me, using Touchwiz and stock Contacts app:

(i already have existing groups, so it might be slightly different for you)

1) start Contacts app
2) touch the Groups tab (do you see any groups here?)
3) select Menu -> Create
4) enter Group name, select Ringtone for group (optional), select Save
5) should be back at the Groups tab, select the group just created
6) enter text in Search contacts box
7) select Search for all contacts, a list of contacts containing the text string shows up
8) select a contact...........

oops, that's as far as I get on the phone. there is no way to continue to add the contact to the group that I was able to find.

Plan B - create and manage group from Gmail instead via laptop or PC browser.

quite silly really.
