Help Having trouble with 3G connectivity. PLEASE help!!

So, I just started having some trouble with my 3G and I cant for the life of me figure out what's causing it.

Problem: Many times throughout the day, I cant get any data. 3G is showing up on my phone, and I have several bars, so signal strength is not an issue. What is an issue is that my 3G seems to be almost stuck. The upstream arrow stays constantly lit, but it is not getting anything downstream. Again, I have the 3G icon, and the bars, but on the 3G icon, only the upstream arrow is lighting up. It's as though its not receiving anything back from the towers.

What I've done to try to fix it: Battery pulled, updated roaming capabilities via *228 option 2, called local Verizon stores to see if they've had any other reports of problems with 3G... All calls to them have come up negative

The only thing I've found that seems to fix it temporarily: When I connect to a WiFi network, then disconnect again, boom, both arrows light up, and I'm able to use data on my phone via Verizon's network. But, I dont always have access to a WiFi network, such as my way in to work today in my car. Since connecting to WiFi seems to remedy it for a while, it's definitely making me think it's something wrong with my phone, and not wrong with the network.

It's very frustrating to know I have the bars, to know I'm in an area that I used to be able to use 3G in, to SEE the 3G icon, but to not know why my phone is not able to get anything back from the towers.

Can anyone PLEASE help me? :(

I had the same problem this morning. I don't have an answer for what was going on, just another way to get your 3g kick started. I turned off the "mobile network" and then turned it back on. As soon as I hit on, I started getting all my emails and I could use the internet again. So if it happens again and you don't have wifi, give this a shot. Of course, hopefully it doesn't happen again....

This is an issue I have noticed on both the Nexus One and the Droid Incredible. I think it has something to do with the radio used in the 65nm Snapdragons. As mentioned above, disconnecting from 3G via any number of means then connecting again fixes it temporarily.

Verizon is known to have 3G issues/cutouts/losses at times it might have nothing to do with you at all. Give it a day if it continues then it might be your phone.

Are you rooted or stock?

Check this post out I had some issues a while back (for more than a day) and started a ticket with Verizon at that time. My issues only lasted for 2 days, but I found an updated PRL to be the cause initially.

How long have you owned the phone and how long has this been going on? Did it work great for an extended period previous to this? Rooted or not? If so, what Rom?
