Can a rooted stock droid get HBO GO?

There shouldn't be any reason why you wouldn't be able to download and install that app. I do know that you will have to have an HBO subscription to use the app. However, if the app can be downloaded and installed on an unrooted Droid, then it can be downloaded and installed on a rooted Droid.

FYI, that above statement is true; however, there are some apps that cannot be used on an UNROOTED Droid that can be used on a ROOTED Droid.

I haven't tried installing it on my Droid, but from everything I have read, the app does not support the Droid 1...at least at this time. I do not know if a rooted and ROM'ed phone would get around this road block. You may want to check out the forum section around some of the ROM dev's sites (i.e CyanogenMod forum).

Also, you have to make sure that your cable/satellite provider is part of the group that is on board with the app.

I have downloaded the program. Everything install fines, but when you load it up it says that it does not support this device. I am rooted running CM 7.0.2

Imagine it either checks your hardware or something in the Rom. If it checks the Rom for the device info I would guess it could be faked out but I don't see how you could overcome a hardware check if that is what it does.

too true, not just hbo but other apps as well
