Help HDMI cable to TV

I just got one yesterday. It worked at first, now it won't output. I'm running MX video player. Any ideas?

Are you seeing any error messages? I'm wondering about the condition of the HDMI cable and ports at each end; need cleaning? Damaged cable?

There have been a couple of times I thought I had inserted the cable all the way but I hadn't. I needed to give a little extra push to get it to snap in. Sorry if this is stating the obvious but that last little push was more than I expected it needed.
