Help HDMI Connector Problems

Gnuoyr

Lurker
Has anyone else had a problem with damage to the HDMI connector on the XOOM? I got tab from Best Buy and right out of the box the HDMI connector was loose. I had to press it to one side to get output to the TV. Geek at BB confirmed it and I will go in tomorrow to get a new tab but I am wondering if this is a chronic issue with the mini-HDMI connectors. I know someone else who had a working set up that after a couple of days stopped working. Haven't heard if he traced it to the connector yet.

where would you get that this is a chronic problem? i have a 3g feb launch day tab and i throw it on a HD dock daily and have had zero issues with any port on the tab...

Two for two just makes me wonder. Have you only used the dock? We were both using cable. Mine was bad the first time I connected it. The other guys worked effort a couple of days.

EXACTLY what happened to me, I used it everyday for the past week, all of a sudden yesterday I plug it in and its so loose! I cant figure it out.. I have to jam it in and wiggle it and get lucky.. but if I touch the screen it will most likely stop working. I bought another cable hoping it was that.. i doubt it, we'll see when I get it..

I might fork over the 100$ for the dock since the cable wouldnt beable to wiggle while on that.

I've used mine 4 or 5 times without incident ... yet. Thanks for making me nervous.

Ive used it alot since launch day, I really dont understand why its so loose now... I basically cant use it anymore, the cord and the port dont look damaged at all..

Have you figured out why it randomly started doing it yet? This is really bugging me that I can't use my HDMI anymore :(

Both of the ones I have physically seen the worked fine if you put a little downward pressure on them. This would be the exact kind of pressure it would experience in a dock. Only speculation for now as Best Buy replaced mine. Personally I don't plan on using the HDMI connector, other then to test it until I get a dock.
