When I plug the HDMI cable into the phone the screen goes white the HTC logo and just freezes up. Will not unfreeze until i remove the battery and reboot the phone.

Where did you get your cable? (brand etc). Did you check your HDMI socket and the cable pin contacts (I know its tiny) and see if there was some sort of defect that's shorting one of the data pins? Just trying to help
I'm having the same problem. It actually worked for a little while, and I was able to view HD Youtube and movies over the HDMI cable, but now when I plug it in, it just locks the phone and I have to pull the battery.
