Help Hdmi output locking up evo

Hey guys finally broke down and got the hdmi cable. Every time I connect the evo and tv together my evo goes white screen and locks up to the point I have to pull the battery. The cable works perfect with my girl friends droid X so I don't think its the cable, anyone have any ideas?

If the cable works with another phone, then its not the cable, or the tv. That only leaves the phone. I would recommend a factory reset. If that doesnt work, that means its not a software glitch, and its hardware failure, and you can take it to sprint for warranty replacement.
