HDMI Video & Audio

I have a Droid Bionic cell phone from Verizon. The phone has a HDMI slot for video & audio to be transmitted to a TV. My TV does not have an HDMI connection but my Studio 1555 laptop PC has an HDMI. Can I use a cable to connect the 2 HDMI connectors to see the phone display on my Studio 1555? If yes, can you suggest a cable and also how do I control which direction the signal goes (don't want my PC video\audio to be on phone only the other way.

Thanks for your help

You'd have to double check, but I am betting that the HDMI on the laptop is just like on the phone - output only.

On the off chance that it does support input, I bought my microHDMI to HDMI cable from monoprice - get the gold plated ones, they are not really that expensive (comparatively speaking).

Thanks,I think you are correct that the port on my PC is an out so it will not work the way I want it to.

I appreciate your quick response but with you had a different answer :)

Thanks for the "conversion" information. By any chance do you have any actual experience with this and if yes where did you buy the converter box and cables

I'm sorry, but I have zero experience in thos area...

I spent a half hour trying to find you some good info on google, but I'm not clear what you would have to buy or how much to spend.

Is your laptop a top model? Look up your model number on the manufacturers site and google it to see if it can accept an incoming hdmi signal. I here most cannot. :o
