This would probably take some building from scratch, or at least taking files from other devices, and probably some driver work, but what would it take to enable our phones to be compatible with a micro usb to hdmi adapter? Such as the one found here: Amazon.com: Skiva MHL (Micro USB) to Female HDMI Adapter (1080p Supported) for Samsung Galaxy Nexus, Galaxy S2, Galaxy Note, Infuse 4G, HTC Evo 3D, EVO view 4G, Flyer , Sensation 4G, Epic 4G Touch, Rezound, Vivid, Amaze 4G: Cell Phones & Accessories

Also, would there be anybody willing to work on that? I think the only thing missing from our device is an hdmi port. And it would be really nice to have that convenience.

I think you'll have to get one and give it a test run. Even if it doesn't work anyone developing for it will need the hardware for testing purposes.

I know where to enable it in the rom, not sure if it will work or not though. If I recall the kernel will need patched more then likely.

I think you're right about the kernel. Would that be because more power would need to be delivered to certain components such as the usb port and GPU? And definitely for the ROM, its not like you can go to the Play store and download an app for it on the Design. I would be willing to work on that myself, but I'm just barely getting to the stage of trying to unpack boot.img so I don't know what to even expect. If I test, would you be willing to help me out?

Hey 2fast, if I sent you an MHL adapter, would you be willing to attempt working on this? I found some information that supports this working, and some information that kind of confuses me.

On gsmarena, it says that the Hero S device has a microUSB (MHL) v2.0 port. But for the Design, it only shows a microUSB v2.0 port. Now until I checked out gsmarena, I never really knew the difference between the Hero S and the Design. I just figured that it was just labeled differently since it was on a different carrier. But even so, with how similar they are, I am hoping that the Design variant still uses the MHL compatible hardware.

Anyways, I know you are likely busy, between school and maybe cm10. But if I provide the adapter, would you be willing to give it a serious shot?

Edit: Sorry, I overlooked something. On the Hero S page, it also states TV out with MHL adapter in its features. I think I will order one for myself first, and see how that goes on the Design. My hopes are that they just didn't announce that feature in the Design's design. If it doesn't work on the Design, then I will bring this back up, and send the adapter to you if you are interested in seeing if it really is enabled for the Hero S.
