Heading to Aruba with the Rezound.

Going to Aruba in December. Want to be able to use the internet on the phone, but not going to pay for Verizons global plan.

When we have gone in the past, we always get an unlimited wifi plan for our laptops. Just have to sign in with the password.

Anyone know if a Rezound will be able to access data this way. Phone has all the stock factory settings. Haven't changed anything on it.

Thanks for any help.

Flash in the Global Mode RUU, should be able to just get a local SIM and pop it in and be good to go... or so I have heard, I have not tested it though.

Verizon also rents phones for areas outside the US -- spent Christmas in London last year, grabbed a phone for $21 for 3 weeks.

I went to Aruba for my honeymoon, used my dumb phone sparingly because it was like a dollar an MB or something ridiculous. Either contact Verizon about temporarily activating global mode. (make sure you are on the latest OTA from august).

Or, wifi will work OOTB for data and you can get a calling card from the local phone company for voice calls from your room or phone booth. And the local phone company does indeed have smartphones for rent.
