Help Headphone Controls

I've tried two pairs of headphones with playback controls and neither one works right. They keep bringing me to the call log screen. I know they work since I used them earlier with my other phone before it died. I know there are apps in the market place that are supposed to remap the controls but none of them have orked for me. Am I missing something really obvious? or is the Volt just messed up?

It's the phone. By default the button on any headphones will with one press bring you to the phone app, and with another press make a call, tried various things too but haven't been able to bypass it yet.

I think it's cause the wiring in the headphones, and how android headphone jacks act differently then iPhone ones. So just blame apple on that.
