Accessories "Headphone Hole Plug".....?

Not sure if something like this has ever even been thought of....but I'm a stone mason, so I'm around a lot of dust, and the headphone jack hole thing freaks me out...

I mean the phone is very enclosed, and the sliding USB door is perfect, I have a screen protector on it, and a "hard gel" case...but the hole is like the only spot that seems to be in danger now.

Any sort of "plug" or anything that can click in there and on the rare occasion I do plug something in there I can remove it?

I don't believe any hole-plug products currently exist, but if you can't wait for a hard case to come out that covers the hole, you can always look online or go to the store to find a cheap pair of earbud headphones that have a short plug and just cut the wire off. That will at least give you a plug for the hole, though it will stick out a maybe a quarter to a third of an inch. You could also try extracting just the plug from the plastic/rubber housing, and as long as it sticks out even slightly while fully inserted, you could take it out with needle nose pliars or tweezers.

Standard office-issue masking tape works wonders, for a short term fix.

It'll stick to the phone, but not leave the residue that packing tape (or the like) will.

Wouldn't the hole be covered if you take over the hard gel case where the hole is? This way you won't even have to put tape directly on the Vibrant.

Yes, take duct tape and stick it (sticky side up) to the inside of a gel case. It will cover the hole and the tape will only be stuck onto the inside of the gel case. It won't show and it won't affect the phone.

+1 assuming you have/want a gel case. If you want your device naked, try my plug advice above.

The "custom" plug idea is good.....

I guess I was picturing in my head like a rubber plug that clicked in place. I'm not gonna tape up my phone though. I'll look around and if not, I'll put up with the hole lol
