headphone insertion action.

lets start with, I searched and found nothing.
I recently switched from the LG G2 to the wonderful LG G3. so far my biggest(only) problem(annoyance) is that there is no action when headphones are inserted. On the G2, and various other phones I have owned, when headphones are inserted it pops up with a bar showing shortcuts to music player/pandora/ect. I have scrolled through most of the menu's and haven't been able to find a setting to turn this on. I know LG was much more hands off on the GUI, was the loss of this option a result of that? Is there any way to regain it?

I do not have this phone,but,until someone who does chimes in,I'd take a look in the GOOGLE PLAY STORE.
I typed in the title of this thread there & three apps came up that sounds like what you're looking for.
I'm w/you,it sux when a mfg opts to debloat & strips away an activity that is actually useful,instead of targeting 3rd party bloatware.

Or if your feeling a bit more adventurous you can program it using tasker. There's even a tutorial somewhere that I remember following that does exactly that.

Under Settings>General>Accessory do you have an option called "Earphone Plug & Pop"?

bahaha, i'm an idiot! i searched the forums, xda, and the googles but not the play store. so looked into it and tried a few but they all seem to require you to unlock the phone, negating the usefulness.

I also have the LG G3 & I'm not seeing an option built in that does what you're looking for, either.

As far as setting something up yourself - Llama is similar to Tasker, but I think it's a lot easier to use, so there's another option for you.

Tasker Does seem big and scary, and has intimidated me for years, but the best way to learn it is by doing, and there's some great examples here.

Ah, that must be a feature of the ROM that I'm using (CloudyG3 2.2)
