Headphone jack help?

Hi, my nexus 5 recently lowered the volume coming out of the right earphone, but the left one continued to play normally. I know its not my headphones, as I have tried other pairs of headphones which seem to work fine on other devices. So I proceeded to replace the headphone jack, and now it performs the same as before. Could it be a connector? Any ideas are appreciated.

I've had this issue from time to time as well. A slight twist of the headphones took care if it.

Out if curiosity, what headphones were you using? I was using an old pair of iPhone headphones/ear buds. Haven't noticed the problem with any other pair, but mostly use those ones.

Maybe a build up of lint/other crap in the port? Happens to my phone every so often, get in there with a safety pin or paper clip, dig it out, should do the trick.

Before you do any digging, might I suggest you use something non-metallic?

Agreed... Using something made of metal may cause a short in the headphone jack/port and permanently damage the headphone jack or port.
I've seen it happen and short out the USB port on a device that was powered off and also with the battery removed.
Better to be safe than sorry!
