Help Headphone quality

I have a Galaxy Nexus on Verizon, running Bugless Beast 4.1.1 Jelly Bean ROM. The issue that I am having is that when I plug in headphones the audio quality is terrible, sounds very tinny and the vocals are washed out. When I plug the phone into the AUX port in my car using the headphone jack the audio quality is normal, no distortion. The only audio apps I have are Volume+ Free, but I have done nothing with their headphone settings. I have tested the headphones on my mp3 player and they work fine, used headphones from a Samsung Captivate (noise isolating), Zune (standard in ear), and Skull Candy (over the ear). Any suggestions? Also I did not test the headphone quality before flashing this ROM.

my first guess would be the ROM - if you had a nandroid of your previous ROM, you could flash and give that a shot
