Help headphones controls not working

Flagship

Newbie
The headphones inline controls aren't working at all with the stock music player and I hear a clicking noise with each control I press. Has anyone's experienced this problem? I searched didn't find a thread on this, they work with mixzing though.its just the default player that has this problem. Thanks for any help.

Same here. Had the phone replaced because of this issue and the new one that turned up today has exactly the same issue. Called T-Mobile who said "it's new to me but I can see on teh forums that a lot of people have this fault. I'll raise a note to see if this can be passed to HTC..."
Headphones are fine with Ubuntu One and any other third party player.

Everyone with this fault needs to gripe to the phone supplier. Also curious to know if this is limited to T-Mobile.

T-Mobile - Stock (not for long)

The problem I've had is probably related to this... I'm on Orange in the UK by the way.

I've found that "Listen" - the podcast application - doesn't like handing back control of the inline controls when I stop using it and go back to using the stock music player. In fact I've just had a another play with it and it now seems impossible to get the inline controls do anything except interact with Listen. Maybe a hard reset would clear the way the controls seem to be permanently attached to just one application, but I'm not inclined to try that.

I don't know quite how Android is supposed to know which application is in charge of things, but it seems to be a first come first served idea taken to a ridiculous extreme!

I thought the wad some dust in the headphone hole, so I blew into it once or twice. I ten inserted my headphones and the were now also able to work with the stock player and not just mixzing.
