Help Headphones will not work

I'm on 2.3 and I've had this problem back when I was on 2.2 as well. Phone will only play through the built in speaker, and not through any set of headphones I plug into it. Headphones work fine on other devices, so thats not it. No water damage or anything of the sort. Ideas?

Maybe your headphone jack is shot. Have you taken it to Big Red?

I've had this problem in the past and found some fix somewhere with settings and what not so I don't think thats it. But I think its time to take it in.
