Help Heating issue common or problem?

I have been using my Galaxy Nexus for 2 days.
After i fully charged it and set the phone up i began exploring. After 10-15min of moderate use, the phone became hot to touch around the camera and the top part of the front of the phone as well.

I am going to go to my optus dealer ASAP. Is there a problem here, or is it just normal for it to overheat in such fashion.

I have also experienced some heating when it is charging...

Cheers!

a little heat is normal if your using it for a period of time non stop. When doing this are you in a good signal coverage area?

Mine got very warm (I wouldn't say hot) to the touch the other day when I had it plugged into the car charger and it was navigating. The GPS seems to head it up a fair amount for me. I haven't noticed the warmth much otherwise. It also happened to spontaneously reboot on me during that same trip, but that was probably unrelated, though it was pretty darned warm up on the top/back of the phone at that point...

If i just leave my phone on but not use it it still heats up.

The temperature doesn't go below 30 degrees celsius (when idle) and after 10-15min of use it always hits 44+...

Surely it is not normal?

I tethering mine and it was fully charged and it only got light warm, watched a 1:52 min movie.

See...2 hours and it got "light warm". I am using for 15min and it is noticably hot.

The model i was using in-store to test drive it didn't have any heat issues. So the problem is not experienced by everyone...

Any update on this one? I got exactly same problem after 5-10 min near camera gets noticably hot.

Ya I get that too on mine. I don't know if this is normal for all 1.2ghz phones or not tho.

On my droid incredible it got pretty warm too but not to the touch like on my nexus. The droid inc is just a 1ghz phone tho.

Yup I had this issue last night. I've had my phone turn off on me twice now. Last night it did it while I was reading a book while it was plugged in charging. Which I've done countless times in the past.

My first phone used to have the exact same heat problem as yours. I exchanged it and now my new one doesn't have that problem anymore, pretty cool to the touch now.

mine gets pretty damn warm after even a few min of usage when im at work on 3g. not great coverage. i dont seem to notice the heat as much when im at home on wifi.

It gets pretty warm. Mostly when doing things like playing games. It's not really hot, but it's a lot warmer than any of my other phones have gotten.

Depends what you're doing. Any battery charging/discharging produces a lot of heat along with the CPU/GPU and just about every other component of the phone. 44 degrees doesn't seem that bad to me and I wouldn't worry about it. The internals have no problem with that kind of temperature and that is probably the battery temp anyways.

I dont know the conversion from C to F but heres my story.

First i have no heat problem with nexus.

When i had rezound, 10-15 of games or youtube and id be above 120degrees.

120 degrees is the temp that would throw a warning on rezound and wgile charging it would flash green amber fast until it dropped below 120. I got it up to about 143F.

I think i read 145 and up is bad and can start frying parts.

But the nexus doesnt get above 105 for me. Its definitely an issue id exchange for.
