i love my phone but my daughter has put the pattern lock in too many times and when i put google account and password details it just saya invalid dont want to lose the phn but shop said nothing can be done is this right

oh dear. :-(

There is a combination of buttons to press on the phone which do various things and I have a feeling one of the combinations is a factory reset.

I am not well up on those things though as have not rooted my phone and dont like to mess (well just a bit).

Anyway, dont dispare just yet as there are some clever peeps on here and I am confident someone will be able to help you out pretty soon.

Shop must be wrong then cause you can do a factory reset on the phone, but you will lose all your data.. But then again it's either lose your data or have a useless phone; so to do a factory reset hold Volume up, home and search for 5 seconds while the screen is on, and a popup should appear asking if you want to reset the phone, tap yes and it'll reset your phone

When it happened to me this didn't make a difference.. But it's always worth a shot!

I found it out after I had done the factory reset "DOH" - I'm planning to try your upgrade to 2.2 in the next week.....pretty new to it all but I must say your intructions look like even an idiot like me could make it work.

THanks for all your feedback - I've learnt a lot just with reading questions and answers that seem to constantly come up .

Cool, if you want you can go to 2.3, it's pretty much better than 2.2 That's exactly how I designed those instructions to be, but you'd be surprised!
