Helix Launcher on 1.5

Ah lame :(. I updated to the first 2.1 leak when it came out, and eventually it basically bricked my phone after a few weeks, and i had to wait four days for verizon to replace it with a new one. I'm trying to stay on 1.5 until the OTA but its so hard! haha

leak v2 has worked amazingly
but wait. your sayig you got a new phone running 1.5 and havent rooted yet?! what are you waiting for?! i wouldve been rooted before walking out the door lol
 
I haven't really read up on rooting at all.. maybe i should? haha is it like jailbreaking an iphone or what?

basically.
there is a whole thread on how to root from 1.5
look at the top of the thread, the all things root thread. read up on it, root, and THEN install helix. or if you root you can do a custom ROM and open up all kinds of new possibilities
 
Hm... well im on my eris right now so i cant really read too much on it, but what are the major benefits?

custom ROMS, free tethering, overclocking, and root only applications, like easier screen captures.

the ROMS are my favorite, they let you to do pretty much ANYTHING you want. its awesome.
