Help Hello All - Newbie here with charging problems...

Would appreciate some feedback re my S2 if possible.

Ive had it many months now and everything has been seemless up until the last few days. When i plug it in to charge it seems to work fine. I mostly leave it on overnight too, on flight mode, just so that i can use the alarm. The charging symbol appears fine and goes about its business of indicating the charging going up and down the battery sign, yet when i take the charger out in the morning the '100%' charged signal which appears in the top left, doesnt go away. Also, the life of the battery doesnt seem to last half as long a sit used to, as indicated by the battery life sign in the top right? It has also fully charged pretty quickly a few times, even within the hour, compared to much longer previously, but yet again the the life seems to be either nowhwere near full, or drains pretty quickly e.g down to about 40% within a 30 mins.

Im not very techy but would appreciate any pointers, as i really dont want to be sending the phone off for any repairs unless i have to.

The most likely problem is that the battery life of the actual battery is decreasing and you should get a replacement battery. Lith-Ion batteries are good but do need to be replaced once in a while.

The biggest problem is that you have been charging the battery while the phone was on. This essentially reduces the life span of the battery very quickly by using charge cycles. Basically you charge the battery to 100%, the phone is on so goes down to 99% or 98% and charges back to 100%, and so on, all night. Each time it bounces off of the top to 98% and back up it is a charge cycle. These batteries are limited in the number of charge cycles they can endure.

Get a new battery and...

1) ...charge it while the phone is off

or

2) ...leave it on all night without charging it and use a car charger while you drive, or plug it in at work so that you can make sure to unplug once it has reached 100%
