Hello everyone.
I'm a retired software systems engineer (the title conferred on Unix admins at my long time workplace).
I've always had an interest in small, cheap devices, so my particular interest in Android is the under $100 7" tablets. I've recently begun exploring two of them, and recently downloaded the developer's kit (eclipse, sdk, etc) . My background is in unix/linux utility programming, but I know enough java to be somewhat dangerous, so I'm going to start hacking away on android apps.
At the moment I'm still muddling around with figuring out how to do things like cut and paste efficiently and customizing reconfiguring the devices.
I look forward to conversations here.
