Hello Android not Working

I just downloaded eclipse 3.4 for ubuntu and put the android sdk of it. I followed the Hello Android instructions from here perfectly, but when I run it, all I get is an emulator (emulator-5554) that Comes up with a black screen and says "ANDROID_". Nothing I do changes it. I am not really sure how to fix this. Could it be a digning problem, or is it completely different?

Thanks,
Eric

If no one helps you within the next couple days I'll see what I get. Unfortunately I won't be home this evening or tomorrow until later and probably won't get to it.

Didn't realize it would take so long for the emulator to load. It works like I thought it should, I just had to wait.
Since you posted this, i downloaded it and started it up. The gui is nice and functional. I cant wait to get the hardware.

hello. i'm very very new to development with android and am having problems getting it to run. when i compile and run in eclipse, my android environment loads fully but the "hello, android" display does not show up. do i need to keep waiting for it to show up or should it display prior to the lock screen? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

the following is what i get in console:

[2011-09-05 11:42:13 - projecthello] ------------------------------
[2011-09-05 11:42:13 - projecthello] Android Launch!
[2011-09-05 11:42:13 - projecthello] adb is running normally.
[2011-09-05 11:42:13 - projecthello] Performing com.example.helloandroid.HelloAndroid activity launch
[2011-09-05 11:42:13 - projecthello] Automatic Target Mode: launching new emulator with compatible AVD 'my_avd'
[2011-09-05 11:42:13 - projecthello] Launching a new emulator with Virtual Device 'my_avd'
[2011-09-05 11:42:13 - Emulator] emulator: emulator window was out of view and was recentred
[2011-09-05 11:42:13 - Emulator]

it seems to stall after this. never finds the new emulator.
