Hello everyone!

JG71

Lurker
I'm new to the forum & looking for some help with a cell issue I've been experiencing for the past couple weeks. Thanks, in advance. I'm not extremely "techie", but I can follow directions. :D

Well, JG71, there is a lot to be said for being able to do that!

Welcome to the Forums!

Post us up some details and we'll see if we can't get you pointed in the right direction. Give the guys and gals something to work with. :)

My primary issue has been trying to use the calling functionality of the phone (SAMSUNG INFUSE 4G). Phone got wet & was powered up at the time. I was not able to dry it out properly until a few hours after was exposed to the water. I did that as soon as I was able, for a couple days, then tried to power it back up. It came back on very slowly at first. It's much better now, virtually normal (as far as power up). Also, lost a lot of apps (that I think were stored on the external SD card). So, the main issue......
During incoming calls:
Call comes in --> I swipe the "Accept" icon, which moves across the screen, but freezes in place. I cannot hear the other party & they cannot hear me. After several seconds (maybe 30), the entire screen turns black, except for the status bar at the top of the screen.
After about 30 more secs, the call screen comes up, but by then the other party has disconnected.
About 5-10 secs later, the call screen quickly flashes "Call Ended" & immediately goes to the missed call log record & displays a pop up stating,

"Sorry! Activity Phone (in process com.android.phone) is not responding." FORCE CLOSE or WAIT

The speaker stills works, as I can hear video, or alarms.
I don't think the mic works, as I cannot be heard & the "Speak" function doesn't work for voice searches or texts & the like.
I also continually show a "Blank External SD Card" icon in my status bar, as long as I have it installed.

Have tried factory reset, but it still does the same thing.
Also, thoroughly cleaned the phone about a week after this happened. Took it apart & gently brushed away any deposits from dried liquid, cleaned with denatured alcohol & put back together. Same issues occurred, although not quite as bad (long delays) after the cleaning.

Sorry this is a book, but I figure providing as much detail as possible, will hopefully bring a quicker answer. ;) Thanks!

ah, man! It sounds to me like the phone is toast. :( Not what you wanted to hear, I know. :o

Who know what little circuits got messed up when the water got in there?

Have you looked on youtube for anything about it? I have been totally amazed at some of the stuff I have seen videos on people doing to their phones. If you can find something, and parts too, then you have to consider is it worth paying for them and maybe not fixing it, vs getting another phone, maybe even a used one.

Oh well. :( Not the best news, but have checked Youtube, but nothing of true help. Contracts up in 5 wks. Changing carriers, so early term fee & the phone ins deductible are as much as a new phone. Hv to just tough it out. Had to do worse though! ;) Thx for the insight dustwun77! Hv a good one!!1

Wish I would have had better ideas for you. :(

Hope you get a good replacement when the time comes. :D
Something to look forward to!
