Hello from Calgary, Alberta, Canada

Caithness

Lurker
Hey all, my name is Caithness... my real name is actually Caithness, but I usually go as Caith... pronounced Kay-Th.

I'm a public affairs officer/military journalist for the Canadian Forces.

I have the HTC Desire Z phone from Bell Mobility. I've had the phone for just under a week now and already I want to "play around" with it.

I'm sure you're all aware how terribly terrible all of the Canadian cell phone providers are... so, hopefully some of you will be able to help me find ways around paying $200 -$300 a month to use my phone.

So ya, that's essentially me for now.

Thanks.

Is that for one phone?

You bet it is... I've seen my bills spike to $300.00 in months when I was making a conscience effort to not overuse my minutes... Canadians pay more for their phones than anywhere else in the world... it's truly pathetic.

Wow! Thats crazy. Don't Canadian carriers require 3 year contracts also?

Absolutely, Bell wanted me to pay $500.00 for my HTC Desire Z on only a one year contract... even on a three year contract they try and get people to pay around $75.00 for the phone... truly disappointing.
