Hi all, I'm new to the forum and recently purchased a Galaxy Note 2 phone. So far I'm loving it with a few annoying minor issues, more to do with the software than the hardware, such as trying to find a good media player that has an efficient way of organizing content.

Welcome! I assume the phone is stock, correct? If so, your choices for media players are a lot more limited than they are if you were to root your phone. That being said, I am not sure if anyone has come up with a method of rooting the Note2 or not yet. At any rate, welcome to the best Android forum out there!

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. My phone is rooted. First thing I did when I got home with it. I've also installed ROM Toolbox Pro which I haven't played around with much yet. The default media player is really dumb. It won't let me escape the window without stopping the playback, (unless there is some non-intuitive trick that will permit this) as the center button, which with most apps will bring you to the desktop while keeping the app running, doesn't work in this case. It also completely ignores all the organization I've developed with my windows folders, and creates it's own 'organization' which is nothing more than sheer disorder.

I was hoping someone would respond who is familiar with different android media players, instead of just conjecturing and dealing in abstractions.
