HeLLO HELP SAMSUNG INDULGE

I have a problem with my samsung indulge ... it got wet and i dried off it seem to be working fine but then when i was trying to type on the keyboard it would give 4 characters for every key i stroke and the return button would raise the volume of the device ... so i decided to restart the samsung in order to see if that would solve the issue ... but instead ... now it wont come out of the samsung screen thought that may be there would be some water left inside the system so i left it to dry in rice but it seems the same.... sometimes it gives you the screen that shows that the battery is charging but nothing else
any help would be appreciated thanks

Hello tanukibushado, and welcome to Android Forums!

There probably is some moisture still residing in your device's hidden areas. Sometimes displacement with rubbing alcohol will remedy that. The alcohol will evaporate without harming components. It is up to you how to go about using the alcohol, there is more than one method. I'd first try dabbing some in with a cotton swab after turning the device off and removing the battery cover and cards (SIM and sd) and then waiting for a bit, then repeating a few times.

After some time I'd then test the device. If things have not changed, it may be time to take it to a tech or to the purchasing point for advice or a replacement.

Good luck!

Welcome to Android Forums!

Unfortunately water damage can be the most difficult to deal with. It can wreak havoc with internal electronics both in terms of shorting out critical components and damaging long term corrosion. My advice is to stop using the phone immediately, remove the battery and the sim and any sd cards and return it to a bag of uncooked rice for at least 72 hours. If that doesn't help, I fear there's little else to do other than repair or replace it. Perhaps the other Indulge owners have some insight. You could ask them in Samsung Galaxy Indulge - Android Forums.

In the future, if an electronic device ever is exposed to moisture, the best practice is to immediately remove the battery and let it dry for several days before attempting to power it on. Having it operational while even slightly wet can damage the electronics permanently.

tanukibushado, sorry to hear about the water exposure to your phone, but hopefully the sage advice from Frisco and lunatic59 will help.

Cheers and welcome to the AndroidForums.
