Hello

Hello all... Just obtained my first smart phone a ZTE Merit. I haven't Rooted it yet hence why I'm here. I've been working around and repairing computers since I was 8. My first computer was a Commodore 64 (Yes,I'm that OLD! ;-) ) I wanted to build up enough know how, i.e. confidence, to root my phone without taking a big chance of bricking it. I've been reading through some posts and it seems this is abut one of the few places with seemingly competent people that know what they're doing. I'm looking forward to picking a few brains if people will let me.

So, if anyone is wiling give me a few tips and tricks I will be very appreciative of your time and talents.

I'm that old too, and probably older.

Check out the ZTE AT&T Avail forums. That's where you'll find a lot of Merit users.

Also check the Avail All Things Root forum and the Complete ZTE Merit Guide: Root, Flash Recovery and Install New ROM.

I'm sure you will find a lot of help and friendly people there. Have fun!
