New to the forum....My Samsung GII from Sprint won't stop turning on its wi fi automatically. I have looked in the forums about this and every answer seems to involve system setting not available on my phone. Ideas please?

Hey there and welcome to Android Forums. 
You took the latest FL24 OTA update I'm assuming? This is a known problem with this update.
You should be able to go into settings, more settings, connection optimizer and unchecked sprint connection optimizer.
