Help/Advice needed

Hi i recently got a HTC sensation XE from ebay and i assumed it was bought from here(England).However the seller didn't say it was actually bought from Dubai until after i asked.Everything works fine the sim works etc except for i can't update to ics when i search for an update nothing happens i tried it with and without the sim in and no update is found.Can i manually update this and if so can someone help me out.

If I were you I'd return it and get a refund for him not declaring it wasn't a UK phone when selling it!

As for manual update, I ain't an expert but the only thing I can think off is to download the RUU file for Europe ICS and that should sort it

There are a few for HTC Europe ICS I think the one you need is the one that was uploaded most recently....this should be the latest. Once downloaded, run the exe file, it will ask to connect your phone, to update etc and then bingo....you will have the latest version of Android and sense. This update will also delete everything on phone, just like it's fresh from the factory, except the sd card

I've done this a few times though my phone was rooted, so I don't know if it has to be rooted for this to work but something tells me it doesn't.
