Help Help! All my photos disappeared :(

One second they were there and the next second they weren't! When I click the Gallery icon, my gallery appears blank and it says "No items." I accessed the storage via USB and was able to save all the photos to my computer, but now my problem is that I can't take any new pictures - they just don't save. When I try to screenshot something, it says "Unable to save screenshot. USB storage may be in use." Other photos I try to take just disappear right after I take them. I'm glad I was able to recover all the photos I had, but I'd like to be able to take some too! Would a factory reset help? Thank you in advance!

Hi ruchikumari and welcome to the forums :wavey:

Try go to settings > apps >all, find the Gallery and clear data and cache. See if that helps.

You might also try this app, Media Scanner. I've never tried it so I don't know if it will help.

If you saved everything you have on your sd card to your pc, you might try reformatting it. If you have another sd card you might try that too.

There's a good chance a factory reset may help, but there's no guarantee, especially if it is some kind of hardware problem.
