Root Help Backing up and Flashing New Rom

Newbie
I have my Wildfire S CMDA s-off and rooted using guide found here. I then downloaded and tried to install Clockworkmod to the SD(Goldcard). I get the message that my device is unsupported but I choose unsupported, then 3x version, then gave it superuser permission(always). Then selected, BU current rom, get message that superuser permission granted, then it reboots to a green icon, for about 3 seconds then it turns to a red triangle with a exclamation mark. Don't want to go any further until I understand what is happening. I have made a BU using Mybackups pro but I believe that even a complete backup is not the entire ROM?

Even though your phone is CDMA, you should be able to use section 5. of the guide below for installing CWM recovery: [Guide] How to root the Wildfire S A510e GSM with S-ON (finally!)

Let me know if that works for you and takes care of the red triangle/exclamation mark.

I can't tell you about Mybackups pro because I've only ever used CWM5 Recovery for backup/restore, but it does the entire ROM.
