Help Help! Bricked Phone

I hope someone can help - love my Cappy, but the past 3 days have been H^&&.

Long story short (you can read what happened in the long version below) My Captivate has the ....phone...triangle...pc icon on the screen. The volume and power reset doesn't work. The remove battery, etc...doesn't work. I've scoured pages and pages to try and figure it out. I made a jig to try and get it into download mode, and the jig works, but it never goes into D/L just that stupid phone icon.


Am I looking at sending this thing back or is there someone out there that can give me back my sanity??

It all started when I tried to apply Lag Fix - I know, what was I thinking? Well that kinda failed: Missing icons; when I pressed home it would always ask which Launcher I wanted to use, even thought I would check the "use this..." then after it loaded my choice, I would have missing programs until I clicked on Amazon App Store (probably a coincidence) then my apps would return.

Ok day two: After total frustration with that I tried to reset the phone to "Stock out of the Box" using the Factory Reset Option. It reset to factory (so I thought) so I reinstalled all of my apk's. After reinstalling them I reset the phone and it wouldn't recognize my USB connection. Upon restart it saw it, but when I dragged down the toolbar it would freeze the phone....on and on. Reset to Factory again and did the same procedure.

Day Three: Tried to reinstall Froyo using ODIN and it locked up when it went into Restart mode. Stuck in "factory restore mode".

If the jig doesn't cause it to go into download mode, then doesn't that mean the jig doesn't work? Anyway, sorry I can't be of much help to you, but mine became bricked after using Odin, too. I wish forums would stop acting so superior and actually update their information, as in this case it seems like there is something wrong with it, and yet all people would say is to use Odin.
