Help: Call Forwarding

Saurav

Lurker
Hi, I just got a HTC desire HD yesterday and was hoping someone could help me.

When I pull the status bar down, it says under "Ongoing":
Call Forwarding [disable button]
Forwarding all calls

Why does it say this? Is it because it forwards unanswered and busy calls to voicemail? I have not set this to it. It also displays the call forwarding symbol on the status bar.

Also on HTC Sense, I registered and tried to test lock my phone but it didn't lock, anyone know why? But when I rang it, it did ring. Thanks.

The settings are as follows:

Always forward: Disabled
Forward when busy: Forwarding to [networks voicemail number] - cannot disable
Forward when unanswered: Forwarding to [networks voicemail number] - cannot disable
Forward when unreachable: Forwarding to [networks voicemail number] - cannot disable

But it still displays the call forwarding logo on the status bar. Thanks.

I would say that the call forwarding etc is a network issue so call them to check.

As for HTC Sense there are several threads on this and the fact that a lot of people cannot get it to work as yet. Basically it is still "work in progress" for HTC, you're not alone and there's not a lot you can do until HTC fix their end of things.

I may be too late with this but I had the same issue. It turned out that all video calls were always being forwarded. I accessed the "video call" item and the option "Always forward" was actually set to a number. You may want to write that down before you disable it. I disabled it and then set the nuber to the other 3 options (f/w when busy, unanswered and unreachable).

I had never accessed the "voice call" forwarding item or the "video call" forwarding items before, so the OS seems to have been unaware of their setting. When you set these options, they are set at the operator side and then communicated to the phone.

Cheers

For the call forwarding thing, I think you have call forwarding enabled in HTC Sense website. I just tried it on mine and it did what you described is happening.

For locking the handset, you'll probably find that it will do it randomly sometime in the next few days. It is very unreliable.
