Help Help, calls are ending before they begin

Hey i'm using stock optimus v on virgin mobile. A couple days ago some updates were pushed out which I accepted. That fact may or may not be related.

Today I noticed that when I call someone, as soon as they pick up, my phone says "call ended". I've tried calling a few different people with the same results. Also when someone calls me, as soon as I pick up, it ends the call for both of us.

Any ideas? Thanks!

This happening to me as well. Just started today. Sent an email to Virgin Mobile, but I am not going to hold my breath.

UPDATE, just talked to VM and they are well aware of the "issue" and are working on it, there is nothing on their web page about this, which really upsets me. I need my phone for my job!!!!

Hmm, I guess I'm glad it's system wide. I just noticed it after I backed up my SD card. Wasn't sure how that would have the "phone".

I was JUST about to post that I'm having the same problem. My calls end at around 15-20 seconds. So it's Virgin Mobile NOT my phone that's messed up? :-/

I have the same problem today.
I tried call different people and it would end the call in about 5 seconds. I tried my voicemail and it hangs up also.

When it first happened I called virgin at *VM (*86) and it made the call. The recording said they were VERY busy and to hold. It took a while and the lady said they are having issues with service. But than I called back an hour later to ask about something completely different and the call disconnected in a few seconds.

I CAN use my text, and 3g data just fine.

I'm glad to know Im not the only one expieriencing problems. I'm sure they will fix it soon....hopefully.

Similar things are happening to me:

- 4 seconds after I call my voice mail, my call is ended
- When I call to leave a voice mail, my call is ended
- When I pick up an incoming call, my call is ended

- can still use web, text and 3g data as well

I did email them earlier and they said that they would get back to me within 72 hours. D:

So, it seems that this is not just an isolated incident.

UPDATE
just tried my phone..seems to be working. you should all try yours again and see if they might have fixed the problem....hope they have

Just got off the phone with my wife. We both have the optimus v, mine rooted, hers stock. Talked for about 15 minutes, and didn't have any disconnects. Maybe it is just a local problem, we are in Louisiana.

It's been going on like for about 3 hours for me...I'm not sure when they will fix this but I assume it's a nationwide issue. I'm on the West Coast, Cali to be exact...are any of you on the other side of the country?

I'm on the Right coast & haven't had this problem today, thank Maude. I'm sorry y'all are experiencing this. :(

This just happened to me when I tried to call my voicemail. It is showing voicemail even though I don't have any missed calls.

I tried restarting it and when it turned back on it made a ringing noise, twice, and the voicemail icon is still there

after about 4-5 hours of no calls, my phone makes calls now. That was weird!

I might be wrong, but I thought I could use my web data when I was in the middle of a call? But during a call all I see is a black phone symbol where the 3g symbol would be. Was it always like that?

After they get these call disconnections fixed... from a landline, call and leave a message on your cell. Then from the same landline call your cell again. When it picks up, hit the * key and go in to your settings to delete the message you just left yourself.

That should get rid of the icon, and it doesn't take away your minutes to check your voicemail when you check it from a landline.
