Help Help... Cannot browse yet connected to WiFi?

Hi, I'm new to this forum and I just had my Samsung Galaxy Y several days ago... I was trying to go to Android Market earlier today using my phone, it said there that I have connected to WiFi and the connection is Excellent, however, it says on the Android Market that I'm "Not Connected" and "Try again"... I also tried browsing Gmail, internet and I still got the same error. It's my 1st time tou use an Android phone. please help... thanks...:confused:
 
I have also bought samsung galaxy y and facing the same issue as mj1214 .I shared the net of my PC through connectify and then connected my samsung galaxy y, it got connected but I was not able to browse. One of my friend connected to the same wifi through his htc wildfire and was able to browse.Someone Please help...!!!!
 
To connect to the Market... not only must there be a connection through, for example, wifi... but also (if I remember correctly) you must have a Google Gmail account.
 
U must allow background data in accounts and sync settings to use market.
make sure u have a wifi symbol in the notification bar indicating wifi signal strength,then only the connection is actually made
