help - can't close android browser pages?!?

As the title says.. I can't get the default browser to close. Got 11 pages open that I can't switch to either as it crashes when I try to do so. Doesn't show up in task manager either. Please help!!

You could find the browser in Application Manager in the device settings and "clear cache"
Dont "clear data" or youll lose your bookmarks but if the problem persists you could try that

That's pretty much the first thing I tried, problem is I'm not sure what the browser's called though. I'm new to android & don't see anything that stands out. Care to enlighten me? (translation: make me feel retawded :o)

Hi, you don't say what device you have. In the app list on my HTC devices the stock browser is shown as 'Internet'. I don't know if that is common to other devices though.

Hope this helps.

:)

Oops.. made the original post in a Galaxy S4 specific section & I'm talking about the default Android browser. (I've always hated Chrome) Anyways, thx for the pointers, no time to check atm but will in a little bit!

PS - would loveto know how to/exactly what clears the little download arrows @ the top of the screen too :o

I think when you pull down the notification shade, theres a "clear" button (if its the same as on a stock s3)

Oh sweet/thx funky!! Had no idea you could even pull that down, haha. Now.. if I could only get all these dang pages to close/clear off. I'm up to 15 atm!

Have you found the browser/internet in Settings, Applications, All?

Id defo check out some youtube vids etc (no offence lol) about your phone to find out how to use more of its basic functions. Its a great phone :)

Yes, I found "internet" and have ended it many times with no affect. If I'm gonna have to do a full reset over a bugged browser, (after literally just buying the phone, not to mention juuust getting it all setup to my liking), I'm not sure I chose the right company, heh.

Force closing it will do nothing. scroll down and you should see "clear cache"
Or if that doesnt help, "clear data" (clear cache wont do ANYTHING "harmful", clear data will ONLY clear the browsers settings, bookmarks etc. Neither will affect anything else on the phone) hope that helps :)

I'd actually done all of the above multiple times with no affect, (other than losing passwords etc of course). For some reason this last time it worked!!! Guess what though.. it's started all over again though, lmao. What a worthless browser. Oh well, time to try some others I guess. Again, thanks to all who replied. :)

Lol well theres a lot of best browser threads :) im a Dolphin man.
Good luck

PS. i adore your username lol
