Root Help! Can't make calls after downgrade

Hi

Just got around to downgrading and unbranding my Orange HTC Desire HD. However since I've done this I seem to have no actual phone signal - no calls, no 3G etc. It's like unbranding it has broken the connection to Orange.

Any ideas at all? I've had a poke about and haven't found any mentions of this from what I've (quickly) looked at. The root and debranding worked fine!

Sorry... I didn't have this issue.

If you've downgraded, then you are almost all the way to having completely rooted your phone... downgrading is the hardest part, plus you have also already voided your warantee, so you might as well go for it! Have you tried rebooting your phone, as this often sorts it for you.

You might as well go for it and root your phone/flash a custom ROM - see this thread http://androidforums.com/desire-hd-all-things-root/354749-how-root-install-custom-rom-desire-hd.html (which I'm guessing you have already done).

Yep, that's all done, and looks lovely. All my backed up stuff is restored etc and I can connect on WiFi, just I can't find any networks at all.

Rebooted a couple of times, no luck. Just trying removing Sim and replacing (straws :))

...........

No joy. I get an error when I go into the settings and try to search for networks or select one automatically.

*Sigh* I never rooted my Hero cos I was paranoid about doing something like this and Orange didn't install as much crap on it as with the Desire HD!

This may sound stupid, but did you put all of the covers back onto the phone after you where done? They are part of the antennae.

*headdesk*

It works. Am dumb. And I call myself a developer. I guess it's hardware and that's infinitely more confusing :)

Thanks!!
