help changing rom

i installed a rom to root my phone here: GalaxyS2Root.com - Your Source for Galaxy S2 root, roms, and more tips!. i then unrooted with the i9100 instead of the i777 from the site. so now i am stuck with the wrong model software (all buttons not working, except the home button). i am having trouble getting into recovery mode. i have tried the power, and the rocker, to no avail. it just boots up normally. any ideas?

To be absolutely clean, you should probably take it back to stock. [Heimdall][Odin][Stock][Root]UCKH7/KK6 Return/Unbrick to Stock (or Root) - xda-developers

You could use Odin and try flashing the kernel you used to root to see if it will get your custom recovery back, but honestly, i'd put it back to stock and start over.

i just flashed my stock rom using odin. seems to work.

Odin back to stock, definitely. Always better to be safe then sorry. I mean rerooting takes all of two seconds. When there are multiple variants of your device, always double and triple check that what you are flashing is specifically for your device.
