Root Help! CM7 constantly reboots....

Hi everyone,

I tried installing CM7 last night and I've been loving everything about it, but today it reboots every 3 or 4 minutes! How can I find out what's causing these???

I don't want to have to wipe my phone out again...

I am having the same problem. when the phone is idle it will reboot. it only reboots when the phone is idle though. I'm not overclocked or anything. I have wiped data and even sbfed but no luck
 
I used to have the same problem while I was on CM7 and I found out that my phone apparently had issues going to sleep. All of the 2nd init ROMs reboot very frequently for me, and I still haven't found a solution, but open the app "Terminal Emulator," press the menu key, go to "More" and press "Take WakeLock". This prevents the phone from truly going to sleep and it stopped my reboots while I was on CM7, however this is an impractical long term solution as it drains battery life like crazy.
 
I never had this problem with the froyo build of cm7, but I just updated to GB and put on the cm4dx gb build and now my phone constantly reboots. One thing I have noticed is that it has been rebooting right when android overclock is granted Superuser permissions. That is something I will be checking in to.
 
I never had this issue. The last nightly I was on was 72, I believe. Now I'm back to apex and couldn't be happier.
 
I ended up just doing a factory reset and it cleared up the issue. My phone has been on for about 8 hours now without any random reboots. I put all of my apps back on again just the way they were and it's still working great.
 
Hi guys,

Thanks for your replies. Since my phone wasn't really usable, I decided to just sbf back to the regular Motorola rom and I'm now on the latest update. I miss the custom ROM though... it's made me realize what garbage blur is (even more than I thought before)!

So soon, I will go back to a custom rom! Somebody here mentioned apex... maybe I'll try that?

Yeah you never know, apex might work perfectly. I've tried 4 different roms, 2 were as stable as stock, 1 froze all the time and 1 freezes randomly (hoping it is done doing that).
