What is the best way to do a factory reset, I would obviously like to keep as much of what I have on my phone as possibe (disply, apps, contacts) I've unrooted and all that good stuff. The phone is just horribly twitchy, and freezes often.

Thanks in advance!

Many of your alternative launchers like Launcher Pro, ADW or Regina have backup/restore capability, usually found in their settings. This allows you to save the settings and configuration of your home screens, so you don't have to start from scratch. The only thing you have to manually re-add is your widgets. There's also a more thorough process for doing what's called a "clean reset", and the process is attached in a word document. Doing the standard factory reset isn't often thorough enough because it just loads back onto your phone everything you had backed up before you did the reset, so any corrupt items could get re-loaded as well. I use Appbrain to back up and restore applications and contacts are automatically re-loaded if you use Gmail.
