Help Help-email prob!

Hi, I am new to Android and not very clever! I set my hotmail account up which was working well. I tried to set up my work email but couldn't (I think I needed a code). By the time I got back to work and asked the IT man to help me, it was giving the option to add account but then was going straight to an error message (previously it was giving different types of email). He googled it but couldnt find a solution. By tonight my hotmail account had a systems error symbol by it and in a fit of pique I tried to uninstall it. That didnt work and now as soon as I press email I get "Validting phone number" followed by an error message saying error validating phone number. The not so nice lady at Orange told me just to take out my sim card for a bit (no impact) and when I rang back a really helpful guy tried to help but said they hadnt come across this problem.They are going to work on it,but has anyone got any ideas? Whole thing is driving me mad!!! :mad:

Hi, if you are talking about orange mail I was having the same error message. To fix it I turned off wifi so that the internet connection was 3G, then ran mail. The validating phone number then succeeded and it allowed me to set up my email. Now it wporks whether using wifi or 3G. I'm assuming the first time you run mail it needs to validate with Orange which it can only do over a 3G connection.
