Root Help! Evo wont turn on.

For about a week my phone hasnt turned on. WHen i rooted with unrevoked 3.3 i didnt wipe and didnt have my gapps. so i then installed them and my phone rebooted and goes straight to recovery. I've tried installing cyanogen again but i just get the status 7 raw image error. This is rediculous. Heres a vid that shows a bit on how it works now. smh I need to get it on anyway possible!

How old is your phone? Did you just get it recently? You rooted with unrevoked 3.3x? Your video is kind of blurry, but it looks like you have Clockwork 2.5.0.1, is that correct? If you rooted with 3.3, can I ask how you ended up with that (if that's what you have)?

If you have a newer phone, that's definitely a problem. I don't know how you managed to get clockwork 2.5.0.1, though. Download Clockwork 2.6.0.1 from here:

It's a PC36IMG.zip file. When you download it, rename it to PC36IMG.zip, exactly, making sure not to unzip it or anything. Copy it to the root of the sdcard (you can do so in recovery; let me know if you need instructions). Turn the phone off, then turn it back on while pressing and holding the volume down button to get to hboot. It will prompt you to flash the file. When it's done go into recovery, which should now be CW 2.6.0.1. Assuming it is, try to wipe, then flash the ROM again. There could be a number of other problems, but based on how old you're saying your phone is, this is the best place to start.

Wtf i did what u said but when i get to the hboot i wait a few seconds nd it says checking the zip or whatever then says no image found help!

Some versions of windows hide file extensions... so if you renamed it PC36IMG.zip and it was already a zip file, it will not recognize it[because it would now be PC36IMG.zip.zip. Connect via usb [select disk drive] and try removing .zip [from the name]... if the file still shows up as zip[ or winrar or whatever program you have that recognizes zip extension] under the "type" heading then you can leave it as only PC36IMG
Then try the process of going back to hboot.

That's definitely one potential problem. Another problem could be that you accidentally unzipped. That happens a lot. Also, are you using the stock card? If a card is too small or something is wrong with it, you won't be able to flash PC36IMG files, for whatever reason.

My suggestion would be to try to wipe everything from recovery. Since you can't seem to get a different recovery. But maybe try again w/ the PC36IMG [recovery file... whether it's Amon RA or clockwork mod 2.6]. The goal for this is for it to be recognized on the bootloader screen [the couple of seconds when it goes green text and says looking for zip]. You don't want to flash that in recovery. If it can't find the zip in the bootloader screen then the file is corrupt or named incorrectly. Try double checking that.

it looks like you are moving the zip file to a folder called root. is that right? if so that is not where it is supposed to go. it should not be in any folder. just on the sd card itself.

You just need to copy it to the SD card, don't put it into any folder, root of SD card means not in a folder. Try it when it is not in a folder then come back and tell us what happened.

YEs!!!! i love u guys forever. its on now. I cant believe i was making that dumb mistake for almost a month smh. But i have no market again. can u guys post the most updated zip of it please?

I'm pretty sure if you go to cyanogen's website they have the gapps (market, gmail) in their downloads page. I don't know exactly where though.

Glad you got this resolved. I'll make sure to be a little more clear about what "root of the sdcard" means from now on.
