Root Help Finding Kernels

[benwalburn]

I have just rooted my Samsung Epic and I'm looking for kernels for it. Not roms, just kernels. I have found a few, but they either say they are only for a specific rom or users have found glitches that would tick off the person using this phone.

Anyways, can someone direct me to a list of kernels? If there is no list, can someone suggest a kernel for me? I NEED one that supports tethering. I would like it to have better battery life, but the tethering is necessary. I am not flashing roms at this time.

Thank you.

Well there are a few out there but probably the most popular is the genocide kernel. The only list of stuff like that that i am aware of is over at xda, the have a wiki and it does show all the different roms and kernels for our phone, but it doesnt necessarily get updated on a daily basis. If you look in the development section over there you will find the different ones as well.

Hmm... Genocide 1.1 does not support wired tether. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hmm, i know i got the wired tether with a rom i have and i just tried it and it worked. I also reread the genocide op i didnt see that it didnt but also it didnt say it did either. I have only ran genocide and clean kernel lately and i know clean kernel wont for sure. There is always twilight zone and one other one by acs, not sure if either of those do or dont. Good luck.
