Help help forceclose won't let me do anything

I am ready to root my Tablet (Galaxy 7", no idea which version because when I search I can't tell. It's 1.5 years old so perhaps it's the first one that came out?).
I searched online how to Root but my tablet won't let me download the Z4 app. Basically the tablet won't let me do anything. It just forcecloses.

How do I get around this? Can I do this from my PC and link the tablet to it?

I'm dizzy from trying to find solutions online.

Thanks!

Bridgette

Welcome bridgeciaj:)
well, I am not too familiar with tablets but are there any markings on the device or perhaps in the battery compartment? Perhaps under the battery so we can tell what model of 7" galaxy tablet you have.

Is your device functioning so that you can go into the settings/about device and look there for more info about it? Or is it force closing no matter what you do?

That sounds like it might be the case (original tablet 7")
What is Odin? Does that mean I can still salvage this or that it should be laid to rest and I need to buy a new one. :(

Thanks!

Thanks for responding so quickly.
I can get into settings, but the Tablet just continuously tells me something has to be force closed. It runs through anything that is running.
I have reset to factory setting.
Hardware version 1800.0.4
Model SCH-1800
Firmware Version 2.3.5

Is that what you are asking?

OK, I think this is beyond my capabilities. If I can't even download something onto my tablet perhaps it's best to go somewhere and pay for it to be fixed by someone with more expertise. :)

Well, I moved your thread to what I believe is your device forum here Bridgette:)

You said you factory reset and still have things force close?
