Help! Forced to iPhone!

My company is switching to the iPhone from BlackBerry. I am still keeping my Android for personal use. My question is how do I avoid the embarrassment of using an iPhone? Are there any Android cases for the iPhone or something that covers that stupid Apple logo? :puke:

I thought all apple phones required a thick cover in order to actually get reception and not have the screen crack from someone just looking at it.

Otterbox is nice and thick and should cover up the fact that the screen is juvenile-sized.

Your post made me laugh just a little.:D
While the iphone would not be my first choice, I certainly do not think you have any reason to be embarrassed by it. It is attractive enough to look at, and there are thousands of cases to choose from. And if anyone who finds it embarrasing asks, just explain that it is the phone that your boss provides for you, and not your first choice.;):)

If you're used to android the iphone is going to drive you bats (Android guy here who has to use an IPAD at work, as little as possible thankfully). It gets really frustrating! Fortunately there are a gazillion iphone cases (and as mentioned above you'll need one).

Otterbox has the stupid hole that shows the Apple logo. I want to slap a big Android sticker over it.

Problem being that most people wont ask. They will think I am a fanboy. :banghead:

I don't really have anything to contribute, but just wanted to say that this thread is giving me a good laugh.

You should request to have your name changed to FanboiDoug  ;)

Wow.... they must be REALLY proud of that damned apple logo on the back.

I feel for you... I really do.
I took the iPhone challenge and used one for a week.
At the end of that week I could not stand it anymore.

Is it a GSM iPhone?
Can you put your work sim in another phone secret like? :D
Just don't get in trouble....

SIM swaps stopped working shortly after AT&T grabbed hold of Cingular Wireless at least that has been my experience when last I tried a gophone SIM into a RAZR only to get 'SIM Card Rejected' also if it's a Verizon iPhone he's sunk!

Well didn't work for me. Maybe it just doesn't work with go phone SIMs?

Took me six hours with tech support just to get that RAZR going

Go phone is AT&T's prepaid setup. Tried to swap my SIM to another model only to get 'Sim card rejected' instead, which irked me as I recalled it working perfectly when they were known as Cingular Wireless

Hmm. Well you could always call customer service and see what they say about it? I've never used a prepaid so I don't know much about it but I was under the impression that the selection of prepaid phones was more limited but that may not be the case these days. I was thinking maybe it only works in designated prepaid phones?

I'm just speculating though. I'd just call and get a direct answer :)

It was long ago before I would ever dream of getting a smartphone. As I said I spent six hours on the phone when I had been able to SIM swap before and I did it all the time. They ended up, after finally activating my new RAZR V3 (at the time) telling me that SIM swaps no longer work and that AT&T now locks the SIM to the handset's IMEI

I think you (OP) are being as silly as the isheep that a lot of us love to hate.
I'm no fanboy & I dont like apple & I'm perfectly happy with Android(ish).
But a free phone etc I really dont see the problem

Honestly I like both platforms. Being all-Android or all-Apple would always make me feel like I'm missing out on certain things, like some games I enjoy on iOS that are not available yet in Google play, although my new Nexus has made me feel less inclined to pull my iPad out of the closet. In fact the last four devices (yes, four) I purchased that run Android have made me change my previous view that Android lagged worse than Call of Duty.

I remember when I had an iPhone4 that I hated the logo cut out cases. Trust me there's a ton out there that cover the whole back. If anything there's more cases for iPhone's than any other phone...

There are more iPhone cases because it is nearly impossible to make ones to fit the hundreds of different Android form factors out there

That and it's one of the most generic shapes ever. Ha. Trust me I wasn't knocking android phones seemingly lackluster choice of cases. Honestly it's gotten to the point where the current flagship android phones have a huge selection of cases too. Never had an issue finding a case for my S3, and if I wanted one for my Note 2 I'm sure I wouldn't have a problem.

:hmpf: I guess you are the type to take the free phone when your contract is up no matter what it is? I take it you would take the free iPhone and use it proudly. :shot:

Seriously? You do not see the problem? :hahaha:

ummmm lets not have a iphone/apple vs android argument here. this is slightly off topic and i just want to make sure that we do not get into one of those typical apple vs android fights that you see pop up here from time to time.

lets all play nice;)

thanx

Actually I'm keeping my contract because it's a really good deal, more importantly it has unlimited data which seems virtually impossible to find these days. It doesnt provide me with a new phone.
I'm probably going to order myself a Nexus 4 today at my own cost to replace my old phone.
