Help HELP!! Forgotten password!!

I've suddenly forgotten my password to my phone. No idea what it is; had it for a few days now and I can't remember it!!

I've googled it and all that comes up is how to reset it based on patterns; it isn't a pattern I've done!!

Does anyone know what I should do?!! HTC Sense refuses to link to my phone, so I can't even do it with that!!

If you put the wrong password/pin/pattern in enough tines it will ask you for your Gmail username and password instead to unlock the phone. Do you know those details?

Hey,

I ended up hard resetting. When I entered the wrong password (purposely) multiple times (Google kept telling me that if you have a pattern and enter it wrong it goes to the Gmail option) it just told me to wait for 30 seconds and try again. I couldn't find any threads anywhere about if you have a password it asks you for your Gmail account; if it does do this, or should, then it doesn't on my DHD!
